Kebulak History

Background

 I started showing dogs as a child, initially showing Cherie Walters’, my aunt’s, Airedale Terriers in junior handling competitions and then her Kerry Blue Terriers as a partner in the Kamaghan Kennels, a kennel with which I remain very closely associated. My first Kerry Blue was a bitch called Kamaghan Ipswich Idol, who I showed as a teenager.  She won a RCC and achieved her junior warrant. I never had a litter from from ‘Georgie’ but she was my best friend. When I left home Georgie stayed with my mother for the remainder of her life.

 My next Kerry Blue was a male dog Kamaghan Hot Property. 'Benson' was the son of Ch Kamaghan All Mighty; a top winning Kerry and grandsire of my homebred Ch Kamaghan Hot Stuff at Arkama. Benson won 1 CC (my first).

Ch Kamaghan Fancy Nancy who I co-owned with her breeder, Cherie Walters came next. She won 3 CCs and was my first champion. 'Nancy' also received one Group 3 placement at championship show level.  

  Ch Kamaghan Fancy Nancy was mated to Ch/Ir Ch Hallsblu Sign Seal and Deliver and from this letter I kept a bitch called Kamaghan Temptress. 'Alice' was Top Puppy in 1998 and won a RCC before being mated to Ch Lunabrook’s Finnegans Favour which produced Ch/It Ch Kamaghan Mr Bombastic, who now resides at the  Balboa Kennels in Italy and was Top Terrier in Italy in 2002 and his litter sister Kamaghan Twice as Nice at Arkama.

 Ch Kamaghan Fancy Nancy was mated to Ch/It Ch Kamaghan Mr Bombastic and this mating produced Ch Kamaghan Mr Ballistic; winner of 6 CCs and 9 RCCs. He was also Top Sire in 2002.

I then bought in Ch Arkama Bombshell at Kamaghan, ‘Jade’.  Jade won 9 CCs, 10 RCCs, Top Kerry Bitch 2002 and Championship Show Group 2, 3 & 4 placings. She was also Top Puppy in 2000, winning 12 Best Puppy awards at Championship Shows (a record number of wins) and was a Regional Finalist of the UK’s Pup of the Year competition.

Following a judging appointment in Northern Ireland I purchased a very eye catching dog ‘Flash Harry’. 'Flash'  was a son of Ch/Ir Ch/It Ch Balboa Belmondo and quickly won a RCC at his first Championship Show and had all the makings of a champion but tragically died less than a year after I bought him. He left behind a legacy however. From one mating to Arkama By Design (litter sister to Bombshell) he produced Ch Arkama Flashdance (‘Fay’). I campagined Fay durin her show career and she was Top Kerry 2004, won 9 CCs, 3 RCCs and Championship Show Group 3 and 4. She was also Runner Up in the Pet Plan Junior Stakes. 

I mated Kamaghan Twice as Nice at Arkama to Kamaghan Hot Property and the mating produced Ch Kamaghan Hot Stuff at Arkama ('Harvey').  Both Hot Stuff and Flashdance became champions on the same day.

During 2005 I handled Ch Stanstead La Deva (‘Dee’) to her title.  She became Top Bitch for 2005; winning 3 CCs and 1 x Group 4 placement at championship show level.

Ch Arkama Bombshell had only one litter which was sired by Ch/It Ch Balboa Benhur; who resided with me for some of his time in the UK. This litter produced my homebred Ch Arkama Penelope Pitstop (‘Pippa’) (Top Kerry 2007, 6 CCs, 2 RCCs, Group 2 & Group 3); Ch Arkama Pinball Wizard at Philwyre (‘Bobby’) (co-owned with Phil Carvey) and handled to his title by me; and It/Int Ch Arkama Proper Little Madam at Stanstead (‘Mia’) who was exported to the Balboa Kennels in Italy where she gained her Italian and International champion titles and was a championship show group winner. (See champions gallery for photos of all). Ch/It Ch Balboa Benhur was also mated to Ch Arkama Flashdance. This litter produced Int/Jsy Ch Ch Arkama Rockafella at Kebulak who was a championship show Group winner in Spain and been placed in Groups in France and Belgium.  He now resides in Jersey.   Ch Arkama Flashdance was later mated to Belgium Ch Arkama Helluvafella (a Benhur son) and produced Arkama Tickety Boo at Kebulak  who was unshown but the dam of Ch/Int/Bel/Lux Ch Kebulak Willie Nelson (see champions), Ch/It Ch Arkama True Grit and Kebulak Sticky and Sweet (see current show dogs).

My involvement with Lakeland Terriers came in 2006 when I purchased my first Lakeland Terrier from Saredon Terrier Kennels; Ch Saredon Unreachable Star at Arkama. ‘ Star’ gained her title during 2008 and was owner handled. During 2008 I imported my second Lakeland Terrier; a Blackdale bitch from Harry O’Donoghue’s famous Terrier Kennels in Ireland. Blackdale Desert Bloom at Kebulak (‘Sahara’) has served to be an important brood bitch for Kebulak.  She produced from one litter Ir Ch Kebulak Guns N'Roses, Jnr Ch and Ir Ch Kebulak Guns A'Blazing   My third Lakeland bitch was bought from Nujax Kennels in the UK: Ir Ch Nujax Under the Influence at Kebulak won a RCC at her first championship show at only 7 months of age.  In 2010 she gained her Irish Champion title.  She also won 2 CCs in the UK; was the breed's European Winner in 2009 and had 4 CACIBs before she was sold abroad.

Following a trip to the World Show in Poland in 2006 I purchased an Irish Champion dog from Philip & Eddie O’Brien & Jarka Poulova – Ch/Ir Ch Edbrios Bohemian Ivanhoe at Arkama (‘Bogy’). He quickly won 4 CCs and 2 RCCs in the only 6 shows during 2007.

  Soon after I bought two Edbrios bitches sire by Int, Eng, Ir, Svk, Po, Cz Edbrios Blue Ivanhoe who was top dog all breeds in Ireland in 2007.  Edbrios Vanity Fair ('Verity') is a RCC and CACIB winner who is close to gaining her Beligum title and continues to be campaigned.  Her litter sister Edbrios Light My Fire ('Bianca') was mated to Ch Arkama Pinball Wizard ar Philwyre and their daughter CC, CAC, Green Star and CACIB winning Kebulak Wheels On Fire (See current dogs).  Kebulak's longstanding friendship with Philip O'Brien and Jarka Poulova (Edbrios Kennels) has now resulted in some highly successful partnership arrangements with our imported show dogs.

The World Show proved to be very important as it was also at this show that I had the opportunity to admire some of the Kerrydom Court Kerry Blue Terriers onwed by Zuzana Szovenyiova from Slovakia. I purchased a puppy from Zuzana – Kerrydom Court Irresistible Guy (’Guy’). and although not shown he has proved to be a very important sire, having sired my beautiful Group winning Ch/Int Ch/Belg Ch/Lux Ch Kebulak Willie Nelson who holds the titles of Amsterdam Winner '10; Brussels Winner '10, Interra Winner '11, Luxembourg Ch '11 Crufts CC winner '11, National Terrier winner '11, Belgian & Brussels Winner '11,  He has produced two CC winners so far - Kebulak Born to Tease (2 CCs, 3 RCCs) and Kebulak Agent Provocateur (1 CC, 2 RCCs, 2 CACs, 1 CACIB, Belgian and Brussels Winner '11) and has produced other outstanding youngsters for the future. 

 I have also imported a bitch from this Kennel - Kerrydom Court Keeley at Kebulak.  'Choo Choo'  is sired by Canadian and US champion Symphonie’s Blind Date out of a stunning multi titled Dinnyesvarosi bitch, ‘Bluish Beauty’.  From her first litter to Ch/Ir/Int/Multi Ch Dandy Black & Blue Rokoko her offspring are in the show ring in the UK and abroad and Kebulak Dolly Rocker resides at Kebulak.  'Dolly' was Best Puppy in Show at the KBTCE show, which was her first show. 

My first Lakeland Terrier litter was born in 2009.  My Ch Saredon Unreachable Star was mated to Ch Saredon Flash Back and they produced Int & Ir Ch Kebulak Swing On  A Star who won her first RCC and Best Puppy at Crufts in 2010.  'Amber' was also World Winner 2010 and Amsterdam Winner 2010.  She has won 1 CC, 6 RCCs and became an Int Ch in 2011 and Bel Ch is 2012.  Her younger brother Ir Ch Kebulak Bad Moon Rising 'Denzil' has proved to be an outstanding sire of many quality youngsters here at Kebulak and in show homes abroad including our Kebulak Man After Midnight who is Top Puppy in UK for 2011 and won a RCC at his first show and Kebulak Pistols at Dawn 'Gangsta' who was Best Puppy in Breed at his first championship show.   Denzil's sister Kebulak Moondance has already won a CC. She resides at Saredon kennels.

Ch/Jsy Ch Naughty But Nice at Kopykats who was sired by my homebred Ch Kamaghan Mr Ballistic joined the Kebulak show team in 2009 and quickly gained her crowning CC and BOB at National Terrier in 2009.  She is also a Jersey Champion and was Top Terrier in Jersey in 2008.  'Peggy' was mated to Ch Willie Nelson and this has resulted in two outstanding youngsters who reside at Kebulak: Kebulak Born To Tease ('Bruce') who is close to his UK title and Kebulak Striptease ('Shakira) who has only been lightly shown but is a consistent class winner at Championship shows.  A repeat mating produced Kebulak Naked and Famous.

Our first Welsh Terrier joined Kebulak in 2009; Ir Ch Saredon Lady Bug at Kebulak.  'Daisy' quickly won her Irish champion title and will be Kebulak's foundation Welsh Terrier bitch.  From her first litter she has produced Kebulak Trigger Happy .  'Bullet' has 6 green stars and is already a junior champion.

Granemore Maximillian at Kebulak is already a Junior Irish Champion and was sired by Reserve Best in Show Crufts winner Ch Torums Tunde Bayou.  'Max' was Top Puppy in 2009 and was a championship show Best Puppy in Show winner as well as winning Best Puppy in Breed at Crufts 2009 (see current dogs).  He is close to his Belgian and Int Ch titles and  continues to be campaigned in Europe before returning to the UK show ring in 2012.

The latter part of 2009 proved to be an exciting time as the fabulous Ch/Ir/Multi/Int Ch Dandy Black & Blue Rokoko joined the Kebulak show team.  He was imported from Croatia and is co-owned with Philip O'Brien and jarka Poulova (Edbrios) and his breeder Angela Ban.  'Rokoko' quickly gained his UK and Irish champion titles.  This heavily titled dog had already enjoyed huge success in Europe before joining Kebulak but has since won BIS at Eurodogshow in Belgium in 2009, was BOB at Amsterdam Winners 2009, Crufts CC winner in 2010; and World Winner 2010.  He has also won two UK championship show groups, and is a BIS, BIS2 and group winner in Ireland.  He has also produced some outstanding youngsters for Kebulak including Kebulak Dirty Harry (Rokoko X Perrisblu Pandora's Box) who was Best Puppy at National Terrier 2011, has a RCC and is on the way to his Irish Ch title before returning to the UK and Kebulak Tango in Paris who was Top Bitch Puppy in 2011 and is a RCC winner. 

In 2010 Kebulak added a further Lakeland Terrier to our Kennels.  This time a male; Ir/Lux/Int Ch Ch Gosel Simply The Man at Kebulak.  He quickly gained his Irish champion title and has won 2 group placements in Ireland  He has won CACs, CACIBs and BOBs in Italy, Switzerland and Belgium and has 2 RCCs.  He is sire to Kebulak Killer Heels who was BOB at Brussels Int Ch Show 2011.

During 2010 we have also, in partnership with Philip O'Brien and Jarka Poulova (Edbrios) and breeders Gertrude and Thomas Hagstrom imported an Irish terrier from the world famous Merrymac Kennels Ch, Int, Swe, Dan, Nor and Nord Ch Merrymac Efficient Dynamics ('X').  In the short time we had him he has won 3 CCs, 2 RCCs, won a Group at a championship show in Ireland and gained his international title.  I have a daughter of his here at Kebulak:Photo Finish at Kebulak.

Kebulak is the UK's Top Breeder for Kerry Blue Terriers in 2011. 

We continue to successfully campaign the Kebulak show team in the UK and abroad. We are proud of all the overseas exhibitors who own and campaign Kebulak Terriers abroad.
